Q: How do I register my child for the league?

A: Registration can be completed online through our website. Simply navigate to the "Registration" tab, fill out the required forms, and submit the registration fee. Detailed instructions and requirements are provided on the registration page.

Q: What age groups do you accommodate?

A: Our league serves various age groups, typically ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade (High School Divisions are currently not available due to facility limitations). Age groups are structured to ensure fair play and appropriate competition levels.

Q: When does the season start and how long does it last?

A: Our seasons typically start in August and runs through November, culminating in a championship tournament. Each season is 10 weeks long, including regular season games and playoffs.

Q: Are there tryouts for the league?

A: Our youth basketball league is for all players. We do not hold tryouts because we believe in providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all young athletes to learn and grow. We encourage all players to register as early as possible and offer players to select their own teammates.

Q: What is the cost to participate?

A: The registration fee is $250, which covers the cost of uniforms, facility use, referees, and other league expenses.

Q: Can parents or guardians volunteer or get involved?

A: Absolutely! We encourage parent and guardian involvement, whether it's serving as a coach, assistant coach, or in other supportive roles. Please contact us for more information on how to get involved.

Q: How are teams formed?

A: Teams in our youth basketball league are formed through a collaborative process that emphasizes player and coach choice. Participants have the opportunity to select their teammates, allowing for natural connections and fostering team chemistry. This approach ensures that players can enjoy the game alongside their friends, enhancing their overall experience on the court. Additionally, by prioritizing fun and personal connections, we create an inclusive environment where every player feels valued and supported, regardless of their skill level. Any remaining roster spots are then filled by assigning players who haven't found a team yet. We also have a competitive matchmaking process to ensure that all teams have a fair chance against their opponents during the season.

Q: What measures do you take to ensure player safety?

A: Player safety is our top priority. All our coaches are trained in first aid and injury prevention, and we strictly enforce safety rules during games and practices. Coaches also undergo the necessary background checks. Additionally, we provide a first aid kit at every game through the facility monitors.

Q: Where are games and practices held?

A: All games and practices are held at local indoor facilities in Folsom. Specific locations and schedules will be provided at the start of the season. We do our best to honor all requests and find accommodations that fit each parent's schedules. Our volunteer coaches have the option to select their practice days/times/locations. Parent's must attend all games (not just drop off and go).

Q: What if my child has never played basketball before?

A: Our league is the perfect place for beginners! We focus on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a supportive environment. Players of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join.
